Welcome to the
Official Site of the Landrum Rescue Squad. We would like
to thank you for your interest and invite you to view
all associated pages, which will give you a good
overview or our organization.
Please note that the Landrum Rescue
Squad is a volunteer Emergency Service dedicated to
assisting the residents of the Spartanburg, Greenville
and Polk Counties region in their time of need. Last
year we responded to more than 1,900 calls for our
assistance. Keeping this in mind you can understand why
we are always looking to increase our membership. If you
are interested in becoming a member, please complete the
application portion of the site or write to us via
e-mail and someone will be in touch. The Rescue Squad
provides all training; all we ask of you is your time.
In addition to responding to emergency
calls, the Rescue Squad is involved in various other
services, which benefits our Community. Some examples
are the attendance at various sporting events throughout
the Township, participation in Community events and
celebrations and sponsoring first aid training.
Once again we would like to thank you
for visiting our Site and invite to stop by and see us
if you are in the area.
Started in 1969,
the Landrum Rescue Squad (rescue 11/48) is a
philanthropically operated, community supported
organization that provides, at no cost to the recipient,
the highest level of rescue, and emergency medical
services for the communities of Spartanburg, Greenville,
and Polk, Counties in the Upstate
of the Carolinas.
On April 28th the
Landrum Rescue Squad accepted the 2008 SC EMS System of
the Year award. It was awarded to us at the EMS
Symposium in Mrytle Beach, South Carolina.
It’s 4:00
a.m. and your pager sounds. The call is a multiple car
accident on the Interstate. They need your help. You
jump into action with the rest of the Squad. Nothing
can match your excitement when you hear the alarm. The
exhilaration of diving into your gear and running for
the ambulance or the squad truck. The satisfaction of
knowing that you may save a life tonight.
Interested in becoming a member of the
Rescue Squad? Members are required to stand duty either
one night per week from 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM, or each
Saturday or Sunday from 6:00 AM until 6:00 AM. All
training is provided free of charge either at the Rescue
Squad or at through local tech schools.
